Overall I am happy so far. This document describes the default keyboard and mouse shortcuts of Inkscape, corresponding to the Probably it's a good feature which I do not appreciate yet. But now I see it's not really a big issue for me. I tried changing some preferences so the settings from the old document rectangle settings would not carry over to a new document. But now that I understand it, it's not a problem. I guess what surprised me as a beginner is that the setting that the rectangle is rounded carries over to a new document. I did not expect that. To get a plain rectangle, no rounded corners, I can set Rx and Ry to zero. But if I make rounded corners on the rectangle, and then click on the rectangle tool, and draw a new rectangle, it also has rounded corners.I see that this is the way it's supposed to work. Then I click on the rectangle tool and draw another rectangle. Next I click on the circle tool and draw two shapes. Then if I click on the rectangle tool again and draw a second rectangle, it is not rounded. But I see that I can set Rx and Ry to zero. This is what surpised me because I started a new document. I see that in the settings panel that has the label "Change" that the numbers for Rx and Ry are greater than zero. I am already getting a bit used to the GUI for 1.1. The link above takes me to a manual page that says "This section not yet updated for Inkscape v0.92." No worries though. ![]()
